Paul Happy With 2nd in Nevada

COLUMBIA, S.C. — Texas Rep. Ron Paul said his second-place finish in Nevada's GOP presidential caucuses on Saturday showed his message is being heard and that he has more supporters than he thought.

"Millions of people have heard this message and this is why coming in second is very great, it sends a great message," Paul said to loud cheers. He conceded that South Carolina's primary, where he was running a distant fifth, was not his to win.

Paul took several swipes at former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who got fewer votes than Paul in Nevada and was trailing Paul in returns being tabulated Saturday night in South Carolina. He told the audience about a confrontation with Giuliani during this month's debate in South Carolina. He said Giuliani "cut me down."

"Tonight, if this is the final tally on that confrontation, we got three times as much vote as the mayor got," he said, referring to Nevada.

SECURITY THUGS WENT SIC-O ON ME

Because of the incident last month in which a fan named Jason Silverstein was ejected for holding up a "Fire Isiah" sign, we were naturally curious what had happened now. I had overheard the fan tell security his crime was yelling for Jared Jeffries to be taken out of the game.

As we followed the alleged heckler being escorted out, about four Garden security officers tried intercepting our path.

I got pushed around pretty good by a couple of the green blazers while in chase of the heckler, as security became more physical than anything that happened between Quentin Richardson and Paul Pierce.

Suddenly, a security officer, in the heat of the moment, yanked my press credential right off my neck as I walked.

The green blazers screamed for us to back off, saying we were not allowed to be in the rotunda, which is false.

It was also probably the final home game for Hinson, after nine years with the Bears.

It is expected he will be fired by Missouri State sometime next week unless the Bears pull off a miracle and win the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament.

"You know me," Hinson said. "I'm not thinking about that. I'm thinking about how we can win that tournament."

It may be a longshot but the Bears are good enough to win the tournament and give Missouri State a reason to keep Hinson for a 10th season. .

STREET PEOPLE: Blogger by night

Kardos is an a graduate student at UCSD working on a Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences. By night, the 25-year-old can be found at one of San Diego's many music venues, gathering content and taking photos for her blog, It's Too Sunny Out Here. Sometimes the East Coast transplant manages to get an hour of sleep in between the two.

Where on the East Coast are you from? "I was born and raised in Harrisburg, Pa. I spent four years in State College, Pa., getting a B.S. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Penn State University before I moved to San Diego."

Why did you start It's Too Sunny Out Here? "Basically I realized that I was going to a ton of live shows and taking a lot of photos. I wanted a means to share my photos and thoughts on those shows in a forum that was slightly more professional than just a MySpace blog or Flickr photostream.

Clinton is 'honored' - so is she history, too?

Name 10 positive influences George W. Bush has had on this country, you probably can't and It's non-idiosyncratic people like you who got him elected in the first place, which was an election he stole(who becomes president with 43 percent of the popular vote), that trust me democrats have not forgotten about, and will add the flurry of liberal support in November. And let's put it this way as a writer, political activist, and intellectual I will have lost all faith in this country if they think a 71 year old chauvenistic war mongering, stroke risk could do a better job, than a young, charistmatic, voice of change. Because let's face it, who did better, John F. Kennedy or Richard Nixon. Let's remember out past.
